How is this possible?
The area has 23 lifts which can transport up to 37.000 people per hour. Obergurgl has about 4.500 guests. This means the lifts run with a maximum capacity of about 1,5 %.
What lifts are there in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl?
- Four cabins (Top Express connection, Hochgurgllift 1+2 and the Festkogllift)
- Two 6man Bubble chairlifts (Steinmannlift, Große Karbahn Hochgurgl)
- Five 4man Bubble lifts
- Three double-chairlifts
- One one-man chairlift (Hohe Mut), and
- Seven t-bar lifts
Ski pass, KeyCard, or Swatch Access?
All the lift-tickets are given on contactless chip-cards. You don’t stick your ski-pass into the check-machine anymore. The pass stays in your pocket and the hub will open automatically.
Do you have artificial snow in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl?
Yes! Artificial-snow making is possible in nearly the whole area. This is the reason why Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is the first skiing-area opening in the autumn – without a glacier! The area opens mid November. Artificial snow can be made on 95 % of the slopes since 2005.
